- Every question has one best answer. Others may be partly right.
- Questions are clinical stories: read the whole stem before the options.
- Your school confirms your date, venue and any adjustments.
How questions are built
- A short clinical stem, sometimes with results or an image, then a question and a list of options.
- Several options may be reasonable. The task is to pick the most appropriate one for this patient now.
- Topics span medicine, surgery, general practice, mental health, prescribing and professional practice.
Questions to ask your school
- When and where will I sit it, and on what device?
- What adjustments are available and how do I apply?
- What happens if I am ill on the day?
Your checklist
- Read the GMC AKT guidance
- Noted my AKT date
